ReLuma is derived from adult stem cells. Formulated with cytokines and matrix proteins to help reduce signs of aging. All cells use these molecules in chemical signaling from one cell to another. These signals weaken as we age, or can change into different signals altogether.
As we age, more and more cells in our skin become inactive. This causes the skin to become thinner, less elastic, and suffer a decline in circulation.
By taking advantage of the self-renewing nature of stem cells, ReLuma is able to supplement weakening signals or overwhelm incorrect signals. The stem cells composed of cytokines and matrix proteins allow the remaining active cells to grow and divide.
Fascinatingly, ReLuma also activates dormant cells to divide, increasing the overall number of skin cells capable of making skin look and feel healthier.
How does it work at a scientific level?
The combined action of multiple cytokines and growth factors is required for optimal growth, stimulation, and synergy of skin cell behavior. For example, in order for TGF-b (transforming growth factor-beta) to stimulate fibroblast cell growth, the presence of PDGF (platelet derived growth factor) is required. Thus, the application of ReLuma, which contains multiple cytokines and growth factors, versus other skin care products containing a few or just one growth factor, may result in a more effective system for stimulating skin rejuvenation and regeneration.
Benefits of ReLuma
- Helps to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
- Helps to activate basal cells (the stem cells of the epidermis) to improve cell turnover rate
- Promotes cell proliferation of dermal cells
- Helps increase collagen, elastin, and other matrix protein production to help improve texture and thickness of skin
- Formulated with patent pending technology
